Fun Fact : Chillicothe is known as "The Home of Sliced Bread". Livingston County Courthouse with mural depicting the community being the home of sliced bread. The district around the courthouse is on the National Register of Historic Places.

Eligibility

Participants must have reached their 3rd birthday by June 20, 2026.

Participants must not have reached their 22nd birthday by January 1, 2026.

Pre-Junior: 3-7

Junior: 8-11

Intermediate: 12-15

Senior: 16-21

Pre-Junior Division exhibitors must be 3 years old on or before June 20, 2026, and not have reached their 8th birthday prior to January 1, 2026.

Junior Division exhibitors must be 8 years old on or before January 1, 2026, and not have reached their 12th birthday prior to January 1, 2026.

Intermediate Division exhibitors must be 12 years old on or before January 1, 2026, and not have reached their 16th birthday prior to January 1, 2026.

Senior Division exhibitors must be 16 years old on or before January 1, 2026 and not have reached their 22nd birthday by January 1, 2026.

Food

Opening Ceremonies & Awards Banquet will include a meal.
Historically, MHJNA has generously provided lunch to exhibitors and families with complimentary meals throughout the week! Help us be the lunch fairy! Exhibitors must be entered in each contest they wish to participate in — including Showmanship — by the entry deadline.

Youth not exhibiting an animal are still eligible to participate in the contest. A separate completed entry is required for the exhibitor. All youth must meet age requirements.

We have discontinued arranging hotel room blocks. In past years, blocks were not utilized at a level that justified the time and coordination involved, and they did not result in significantly reduced room rates for exhibitors. In addition, many families now choose alternative lodging options such as Airbnb and similar rentals, further limiting the effectiveness of room blocks.
